Construction on 2nd and 3rd Avenues will lead to road closures as sewer lines and manhole structures are replaced. The closure on 2nd Avenue is currently underway and will last until September 19, 2025. On 3rd Avenue, the closure is scheduled from September 29 through October 17, 2025.
Road closure and detour signs will be in place to guide motorists and inform them of local traffic restrictions. The construction schedule may change depending on weather conditions.
Normal work hours for this project are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for major holidays. Residents can expect increased noise and traffic during these times.
For additional information about the project, the public can call the DWM Project Information Line at 1-800-986-1108 or email projectinfo@dekalbcountyga.gov with questions.
