Efforts to upgrade DeKalb County’s watershed system will move forward with the start of the Flat Shoals Sewer Improvement Project on Monday, November 3. The project will involve crews installing cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) to rehabilitate 3,847 linear feet of aging sewer lines. The work is projected to last about eight months, depending on weather conditions.
This initiative is part of DeKalb County’s $4.27 billion capital improvement program, which aims to improve the capacity and service of the county’s watershed systems.
Construction is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on major holidays. Residents should expect increased noise and traffic during these hours.
A virtual community meeting to provide more information about the Flat Shoals Sewer Improvement Project will be held on Thursday, October 23, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/82435600481.
