Emory Hillandale Hospital in Stonecrest, Georgia, has developed a community garden that is playing a role in patient care and local engagement. The hospital uses the garden’s natural terrain as part of physical therapy programs, allowing patients to work on balance, mobility, and confidence during their rehabilitation. In addition to its therapeutic uses, the garden is open to members of the community who can harvest produce, volunteer during organized gardening days, and spend time outdoors.
The initiative reflects an effort by Emory Hillandale Hospital to integrate health care with broader well-being and community involvement.
