The DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability Department has announced the first World Planning Day Middle School Art Contest. The competition is open to students in grades 6 through 8 who are enrolled in DeKalb County middle schools. Students are invited to submit two-dimensional artwork, no larger than 11 by 16 inches, that addresses topics such as community, sustainability, beautification, and transportation. Submissions should answer the question, “What does community look like to you?” under the theme “Think Global, Plan Local.”
All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Winners of the contest will have their artwork displayed before and during World Planning Day and will receive a special prize.
