DeKalb County has announced changes to its residential sanitation collection schedule for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays. According to county officials, there will be no collection service on Thursday, December 25, in observance of Christmas Day, or on Thursday, January 1, for New Year’s Day.

Customers who usually have their sanitation collected on Thursdays will have their service moved to Friday. Specifically, those with scheduled pickups on December 25 and January 1 will instead be serviced on December 26 and January 2.

The schedule for Monday through Wednesday collections remains unchanged for both holiday weeks. The Seminole Road Landfill, Central and North Transfer Stations, Customer Care call center, and administration building will also close on the two holidays and reopen during normal operating hours the following Fridays.
