Due to expected winter weather and a declared State of Emergency, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners has announced that all upcoming board and committee meetings will be held virtually. The meetings will take place via teleconference on Zoom to maintain public safety and ensure government operations continue as planned.
The public can access these meetings through live stream on DCTV’s webpage at www.DCTVChannel23.TV, by joining the specified Zoom links, or by telephone. The county notes that phone numbers of those who join by telephone may be visible to other participants and viewers.
Two key meetings are scheduled: a Special Called Finance, Audit, and Budget (FAB) Committee Meeting on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the regular DeKalb County Board of Commissioners Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both will be conducted via Zoom using the provided meeting links.
Public comment for the Board of Commissioners meeting can be submitted by email to PublicComment@dekalbcountyga.gov between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting. “The body of the email must include the sender’s first and last name and address. By submitting an email for public comment, individuals consent to having their name, address, and email address broadcast during the Zoom meeting and entered into the official record.” Only emails received during this window will be read aloud; others will be included in the next regular meeting’s public record.
The guidelines specify that “abusive, profane, or derogatory language will not be permitted.” Public comment is limited to three minutes per person as read by the Clerk and capped at thirty minutes total per session. The county reserves discretion over whether emails are read aloud or simply included in official records.
A Public Hearing is also scheduled during the business meeting on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., accessible via Zoom or telephone. Citizens wishing to speak can enter the queue using Zoom’s “Raise Hand” feature or pressing #2 by phone. Each side—supporters or opponents—will have fifteen minutes to present comments. No comment cards will be used; speakers must state their name and address for inclusion in records.
Documents for consideration at the hearing may be sent before 9:00 a.m. on January 27 to PublicHearing@dekalbcountyga.gov.
For ongoing updates about county operations during inclement weather, residents are advised to monitor official DeKalb County communications.
