DeKalb County Public Library has received grant funding from the STAR Library Network and HHMI Tangles Bank Studios through the Flight Path program. Three library branches were each awarded $500 and materials to support programs focused on bird migration, bird health, and local bird awareness. The Flight Path program is the first campaign under the Spark of Science @ My Library initiative.
The grant will be used to offer programs for both youth and adults at three library locations between October and December. Each event will feature a screening of the documentary “Wild Hope: Building for Birds” and activities where participants can decorate bird decals to help make windows safer for birds.
The scheduled events are as follows:
– Stonecrest Library: Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 3123 Klondike Road, Stonecrest, GA.
– Chamblee Library: Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at 4115 Clairmont Road, Chamblee, GA.
– Dunwoody Library: Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at 5339 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA.
