DeKalb County will open warming centers from Sunday, December 14 through Tuesday, December 17 in response to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous wind chills. The activation begins at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday and continues through Wednesday morning.

Three locations will operate during this period for 24-hour service: Frontline Response International at 2585 Gresham Rd SE in Atlanta, St. Vincent de Paul at 2050-C Chamblee Tucker Rd in Chamblee, and Exchange Park Intergenerational Center at 2771 Columbia Dr in Decatur. Mason Mill Recreation Center will remain closed for this activation.

To accommodate the early opening on Sunday, transportation pickups will follow a revised schedule that morning only. All routes start from Frontline Response Headquarters and cover multiple stops throughout North DeKalb, Chamblee-Tucker, Central Decatur/Emory areas, East Stone Mountain/Candler neighborhoods, and South Central/Memorial Dr/Wesley Chapel regions. Regular evening transportation schedules resume Monday night.

Frontline Response International is contracted by DeKalb County to provide support during extreme weather events. Services offered include hot meals, cots, transportation assistance, and case management. Individuals needing shelter can go directly to Frontline HQ starting at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday for help with placement or other services.
