DeKalb County Board of Ethics to review cases and hold executive session at October meeting

The DeKalb County Board of Ethics is scheduled to hold its regular public meeting on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at 178 Sams Street, Room A1201 – A & B, in Decatur, Georgia.

The agenda includes the adoption of the meeting agenda, approval of the minutes from the previous meeting held on September 18, 2025, committee reports, and the Ethics Officer’s monthly report. The board will also review preliminary cases: Asya Perrymond v. Vanessa Collins (Case No. 2025-7), Dianne Charlie Moore v. Johnny Mitchell (Case No. 2025-8), and Felicia Jones v. Benita Ransom (Case No. 2025-9).

The meeting will provide time for public comments and remarks from the Board of Ethics members. An executive session is planned to discuss pending litigation and personnel issues, with motions to convene and adjourn the session as well as to approve the executive session affidavit.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025.

In related news, DeKalb County schools experienced a 2.2% decrease in enrollment during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year. The total number of students enrolled was 98,287 for that period, and white students comprised 14% of the student body, making them the third most represented ethnic group in the county’s schools according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/).
