After certifying the results of the November 4 Municipal General/Special Election, the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) and DeKalb Voter Registration & Elections (VRE) have announced early voting details for the December 2 runoff elections. Early voting will be held from November 22 to November 26 at five locations throughout DeKalb County.

Three contests are set for a runoff: Atlanta Board of Education Member, District 8, At Large; Atlanta City Council Member District 7; and Stonecrest City Councilmember, District Post 5.

“DeKalb voters continue to demonstrate their commitment to democracy,” said VRE Director Keisha L. Smith. “We’re encouraged by this year’s strong turnout and grateful to our voters, poll workers, and staff who make the process smooth and secure. The increase we’ve seen reflects growing community engagement across our cities and underscores the importance of every election.”

Early voting sites include the DeKalb Voter Registration & Elections Office in Decatur, Bessie Branham Recreation Center in Atlanta, Emory University in Atlanta, Salem-Panola Library in Lithonia, and Stonecrest Library in Lithonia. Voting hours vary by location but generally run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday before Election Day. The Stonecrest Library will begin early voting on Sunday instead of Saturday.

Absentee ballots can be requested through November 21 for the December runoff election. Ballots may be delivered during regular hours at the DeKalb VRE Office or any early voting site listed.

For some voters in the City of Atlanta portion of DeKalb County, polling places will change for this runoff only; affected individuals will receive notifications by mail. Those outside Atlanta city limits are not eligible for this runoff vote. Most precincts close at 7 p.m., but Atlanta precincts will remain open until 8 p.m.
