The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Park Pride, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new playground at Biffle Park on Saturday, Oct. 25. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. at 5221 Biffle Rd., Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Funding for the playground project totaled $325,798. The investment was supported by Park Pride’s Grantmaking Program, the DeKalb County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), and the county’s Parks Department.

Community members, county officials, parks staff, and the Friends of Biffle Park are invited to attend the ceremony.

DeKalb County schools reported a total enrollment of 98,287 students in the 2022-23 school year, reflecting a 2.2% decrease from the previous year according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/). During this period, white students represented 14% of the student body, making them the third most represented ethnic group in the county’s schools (https://www.gadoe.org/).
