DeKalb adjusts sanitation schedule for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Sanitation services in DeKalb County will be adjusted for the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which falls on Monday, January 19. All residential garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings collections will operate one day later than usual due to the holiday.

There will be no sanitation service on Monday, January 19. Residents whose regular collection is scheduled for Monday will receive service on Tuesday, January 20. Those normally serviced on Tuesday will have their collection moved to Wednesday, January 21. Wednesday’s regular customers will be serviced on Thursday, January 22, and Thursday’s customers on Friday, January 23.

The North Transfer Station will remain open from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the holiday itself but resume normal hours starting Tuesday. Other facilities—including the Customer Care call center, administration building, Central Transfer Station, and Seminole Road Landfill—will be closed Monday and reopen with normal hours Tuesday.
