Amazon has announced the creation of 250,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal job opportunities across the United States, including 10,500 seasonal positions in Georgia. This initiative is part of the company’s annual holiday hiring drive, as said on its website.
According to Amazon’s newsroom announcement, the holiday season is described as a significant period for the company because it enables them to deliver joy to customers while creating employment opportunities nationwide. The post outlines that these roles will be available across Amazon’s U.S. fulfillment and transportation network to meet increased holiday demand. The company added that these jobs are highly sought after and often fill quickly, offering flexibility, competitive pay, and potential for advancement within Amazon’s operations.
Amazon’s official release indicates that regular full- and part-time employees earn an average of $23 per hour with benefits, while seasonal workers earn an average of more than $19 per hour. The company said that when elected benefits are included, total compensation now exceeds $30 per hour—driven by a $1 billion investment to raise pay and lower healthcare costs for its U.S. operations workforce. Amazon emphasized that these pay increases reflect its long-term commitment to employee well-being and competitiveness in the logistics industry.
As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), Amazon’s national hiring surge includes 10,500 seasonal jobs across Georgia, with more than 5,000 positions in metro Atlanta and 500 in Savannah. The article highlights that this initiative will boost Georgia’s seasonal employment and strengthen local economies by supporting families and businesses during the holidays. AJC also noted that Amazon’s ongoing expansion across the state has positioned the company as one of Georgia’s largest private employers.
